Hydrotherapy Benefits

Warm water increases the circulation of blood to the muscles, leading to relaxation and a reduction in pain and stiffness. Controlled exercise improves circulation, reduces swelling around an injured area and enhances healing. Swimming sessions also provide mental stimulation and enrichment for your dog who may have restricted movement or be on a restricted exercise regime.

Hydrotherapy tones most of the major muscle groups and improves the overall fitness of your dog. Water based exercise typically uses 30% more oxygen than similar land based exercise which promotes cardiovascular fitness.

Individually tailored treatment programmes can help: -

- hip or elbow dysplasia
- pre and post surgical intervention and rehabilitation
- Osteoarthritis
- weight loss and fitness
- water confidence
